Construction of the national interconnector project, Marinus Link, is scheduled to commence next year, with the recent achievement of financial close and now all lead contractors secured.
Attendees joined Marinus Link, lead contractors and key industry agencies for networking and briefing events in December across Tasmania and Victoria.
At these events, attendees networked with project teams, learned about upcoming work packages and construction timelines, and discovered how your skills and services could play a role in Australia’s clean energy future.
Sessions were tailored for Tasmanian and Victorian suppliers, subcontractors, manufacturers, consultants, and service providers spanning civil construction, electrical, engineering, logistics, accommodation, catering, security, skills and more.
Lead contractors in attendance included:
- TasVic Greenlink (Joint venture of DT Infrastructure and Samsung C&T)
- Hitachi Energy
- Prysmian Powerlink
These Meet the Contractor events follow industry briefings held in February 2025, which resulted in more than 500 business registrations through the Industry Capability Network (ICN). These were then passed on to the shortlisted contractors as they developed their tenders.
Marinus Link is a $3.85bn project to construct an underground and undersea electricity and telecommunications interconnector between Tasmania and Victoria. Marinus Link Pty Ltd is jointly owned by the Commonwealth of Australia, the State of Tasmania and the State of Victoria.
